My preferred look is still a slighty punkish, gothic one. That is one reason, why I’m totally in love with Pink Fuel‘s Alyx skin in this bright pearl shade – I so hope Mochi Milena will release the full skin line soon. Today I was in to mood to achieve a nerdy, but nice punkish style.

So main items needed to achieve this look are, of course, nerd glasses. I found some very cute and yet cheap ones on Marketplace from SOVI3T * S t a r :: Apparel Shop. They are scripted, so you can chose many colors, and the package contains two different positions.

Additionally I combined them with monso’s My Yagu mesh jacket and Maitreya‘s Mesh Leather leggins, wearing a punkish hair style from Lamb together with an etched hair base from Aitui. Et voila, out comes a nerdy, but nice look

Monocle Lady

Sometimes I find it funny, what inspires me to photoshoots and settings for them. Today’s very quick post came off a playful conversation on Plurk about Mr. Don Mill‘s “virginal” monocle. And suddenly I had the idea to take a snapshot wearing a monocle. This is the result – just combined with the Laticia set from Barerose Tokyo.

And again, we have another day to shoot a scene from the Great SL Photo Hunt. I decided for set #19 “You ironing clothes”. As I was thinking about the scenery and how to arrange it, my first problem was, how to get a darn ironing board?

I was looking on Marketplace, and found one at Artilleri, which is offering also clothing, hair, accessories and furniture and in  rockabilly / vintage style. At once I had this flash of inspiration to setup a complete rockabilly housewife set, and so here is my ironing style with the aid of Artilleri

insanya Mesh Leather Jacket

Lately I was rummaging in insanya‘s inworld store and found a very cool mesh leather jacket, which was new to me. Today I had the opportunity to demo it, and I was totally convinced by the beautiful detailed textures. So I got the jacket both in plain and camo version, which you can see on the pictures here.

The mesh jacket comes in 5 different sizes from XXS to L and with also 5 matching alpha layers to fit your body as perfectly as possible. The camo and plain versions are packed in separate fat packs, if you want all colors. Camo style is available in black, blue, brown, fuschia, gray, green, purple, red, taupe and teal, while plain comes in slightly different shades: black, blue, brown, green, purple, red and taupe are also present, but differently from camo we have gold, silver and pink. I’m wearing here the camo jacket in gray and the plain one in gold.

For me, the jacket is very stylish and beautiful in its texture details. Especially the natural drapery on sleeves and back is stunning. I totally love a well made leather jacket, so this will most probably become one of my current favorites.

I also had some serious hair shopping attack. One of the new styles I bought is this extraordinary wonderful style from Elikatira, called Early, which I’m wearing in shade white 03. It certainly is some older hair style, but I also love those short styles on me, I can’t get enough hair anyway

The Aviator

Again inspired by the Great SL Photo Hunt, initiated by Cajsa Lilliehook, I was planning to shoot another set today. There are some very encouraging people already doing the Hunt, espacially extremely dedicated Miss Veenya Venter, who most probably will be the first person completing the entire Hunt.

So I was thinking of which set to do, and as I was surfing through SL Marketplace I stumbled upon some aircrafts – which reminded me at once of set #15: “You on a plane! (A MUTHERFUCKING PLANE)”. Well, next steps were easy: getting a cool plane and putting together a nice matching outfit. And here is my personal version of the Aviator.

The plane is a full mesh created version of a Vought F4U Corsair, a carrier-capable fighter aircraft served during World War II and Korean War. It’s made by KBEG Airport&Shop EG Planes and fully functional. It comes with HUD flight controls and even a combat system, so you can re-enact some cool dogfights, if you like.

First of all this hunt is a wonderful inspiration of getting some scenes and people together, and I cannot praise Cajsa enough for her great ideas. And second, it’s a funny way to put some items to my invy I certainly would never search for otherwise – like this WWII inspired pilot helmet I’m wearing here. So to me it is really most fun trying to create an appropriate outfit for each scene – and I hope you’ll like the outcome a little bit, too.

Parachute Punk

Today it went around Plurk, that a new SL Photo Hunt has been started, initiated by Cajsa Lilliehook on “Its Only Fashion” blog. As I had a look at the post, I was struck first by the huge amount of photo’s, that are demanded to complete the hunt: 100 different sets with partially not that easy to manage settings. Have a look at the site yourself, it’s a tremendous challenge.

So I certainly won’t have the time to fully go through all 100 sets. But I totally love the idea and the energy behind it to come up with such funny, inspiring and extraordinary pictures.

Well, mostly counting starts at One, and so we want to begin the challenge also at set 1: “A shot of you jumping in a parachute”.

Here is my own version of a sexy, punky parachutist. I hope you like the pictures as much as I had fun with getting the outfit together.

Piercing Pain

Over the past few years, percings and tattoos have become more and more common. At the time when “our generation” will be old and we’re all living together in retirement homes, we can show us our body art from former times and amuse each others with the stories of the pain we agonized by getting them.

On the one hand it is such fun to play around with piercings in SL, because you won’t ever feel the adrenalin rush and beautiful pain when the needle pierces your flesh – and you can try as many styles and stuff as you wish without any regrets. But on the other hand, you will also most probably feel the slight “SL pain”, when you buy your set of piercings and want to put it on for the first time. Then it comes to the wonderful process of fixing and editing little pieces in order to suit your avatar perfectly.

But for me personally, this process is totally worth undergoing for HoD‘s new set of full body piercings called “Mess of Metal” – and it sure that is. The full set that we are looking at here contains face, breast, belly, tailbone and spinal piercings. Each set comes in eight different metal colors (I’m showing them here in Silver Lining). Every piece of sculpt is made with love for detail and hand drawn textures by desgner and creator of HoD, Aydan Darcy.

As a very nice addition, a set of spinal and tailbone bruises from +Nuuna+ is also included. It comes on all layers incl. tattoo layer, which I’m also wearing on the respective picture.

Let’s Take a Ride

Yesterday I was visiting The Whore Couture Fair together with a dear friend. Usually “whore style” clothes is  not my kind of thing. I personally don’t like wearing ass crack pants or super short mini skirts, for example – just my personal point of view, no offense intended. But of course my imagination of that fair was not the full story.

As we were running around the sim – and I kept crashing one after another – I saw some cute dresses, underwear and tops. And I did get me one piece, which is insanya’s StreetArmySweater, that I’m showing off here.

My “pose prop” today is another story raised by Plurk. The inspiration came from Gabe Bookmite, who I had the honor to also meet yesterday on Plurk. He was asking if somebody had a cool car or a motorbike to borrow him for a post, and I suddenly remembered, that I once bought this custom bike called “Juggernaut” from BUR motorcycles and never used it so far. So thank you very much, Gabe, for this flash of inspiration!

Art Nudeveau

After I did my NSFW blog post yesterday I was surfing through the internet without specific topics in mind. I googled for some of my favorite topics like steampunk and art, until I suddenly stumpled upon some beautiful pictures, featuring nude girls in front of art nouveau backgrouds.

This inspired me to shoot this photo – and honestly, I do like to do some nude shootings sometimes
